Create Volumes

With this tool you can create volumes between surfaces

The Create Volumes tool can be found here:

MOUS_ICO Home tab > Task group > New > Create Volumes
MOUS_ICO View tab > Presentation group > Create Volumes

The Task consists of several Tabs: Task, Base Input, Comparison Input, Boundary, Method, Preview, Finish

Task

Template (only available when creating new task)
Templates will fill in wanted data. The default template is an empty template.

To create a task template from an existing task, right mouse click the task in Explorer and select Save as Template…

Name
Specify a name for the task. This can be changed later.

To change the name on a task simply change it in the process tree. Changing the name of a task changes only the taskname. The actual filenames hidden in the model will not be changed.

Subtask of
Specify the subtask in the process structure where the task is to be stored. All tasks can be moved later by drag-and-drop.

Documentation
Add information about the task and attach files as documentation.

Base Input

In Base Input you select between two Types, Surface or Elevation.

When Surface is selected, you can select Base Surface and, if wanted, Subbase Surface. When Elevation is selected, you have to enter which elevation should present Base Surface.

Comparison Input

In Comparison Input you select between two Types, Surface or Elevation.

When Surface is selected, you can select Comparison Surface.
When Elevation is selected, you have to enter which elevation should present Comparison Surface.

Boundary

In Boundary you can select Outer Boundary and/or Holes (inner boundaries.) They can be features with surface or closed line geometries.

What to do

Here you can select three alternatives: * Create Cut and Fill Features *Create Cut Features only *Create Fill Features only

Cut features will be created when Comparison Surface is underneath the Base Surface Fill features are created when Comparison Surface is above Base Surface

(Comparison and Base Surfaces are set in Base Input and Comparison Output)

Cut Spatial Metadata

Set Feature Existence (Designed or Existing) and Medium on Cut Result features

Cut Attributes

Set the attribute for type of cut: *Rock *Ordinary Soil *Unsuitable Soil *Topsoil *Forest topsoil

It is also possible to add generic attributes to the result cut feature

Fill Spatial Metadata

Set Feature Existence (Designed or Existing) and Medium on Fill Result features

Fill Features & Attributes

It is possible to select Fill Feature Types and corresponding attributes: Purpose and Materials

Surface Priority

Multiple overlapping surfaces can be selected as Base Input and Comparison Input. In Surface Priority, user decides the priority of the selected Input features. The feature on top of the list has the highest priority

Preview

User can preselect to Preview in 3D and Preview in Table. Then new 3D window and new Table window with result will appear when Preview Button is clicked.
The precalculated result can also be seen in all open windows where the task is included when Preview is clicked

Finish

Finish

Used to save changes and create results. Changes will be stored to the task.

Cancel

Used to cancel the task.
This will revert all changes done inside dialogs and task since opening the task.
