Leader Annotation

Use this function to annotate (with leader arrow) the description of selected symbols, lines and areas that were inserted using Novapoint Landscape.

• Novapoint reads the descriptions of the selected objects and inserts them as a single text label attatched to an arrow.
• Text labels are controled by Leader Annotation Setup and can include any field from the description.

Pre-conditions:

• Only the symbols, lines and areas inserted using the functions of Novapoint Landscape can be initiated to this function.
• To select more than one object, all the symbols must be of same type and have identical descriptions. multiple objects are counted or summed and the result is added to one leader as a quantity.

• The function exits if it detects mismatch in description data between the selected objects.

• If the objects descriptions are changed using the editing tools (NCO, description browser, etc), the existing leader annotation of that symbol will be updated automatically.

Start the function and follow the instructions in the command line:

Select objects: Pick the symbol(s), for which leader annotation is to be inserted and finish with <enter>.

Insert First Point: Pick the start point of the leader arrow.

Insert second point: Pick the second point of the leader arrow.

The text is attached to the leader.

The Leader annotation functions have its own toolpalette, this will apear on first use, or when other related functions run. The toolpalette shows the current leader style, the default style is named 'Standard'. New leader annotations will get the current style.

To set out a leader with a different format, first define a new style in Leader Annotation Setup. Afterwards you can use the palette to change the current leader style, or to change the style of an existing leader.

Block Leader Annotation from previous versions of NP Landscape is recognized by the program and added to the style Standard. The function must be running to recognize the old leaders when a drawing is opened. To start the the function; choose the command 'Leader annotation' from the menu or toolbar and press escape. Then open the drawing.

• The elevation label will be inserted with the current 'MTEXT' (AutoCAD's function) settings (style and text height).
• This function will reflect the settings for TEXTSIZE following the 'Drawing Scale' (Novapoint Base function). Automatic updates will adjust the existing leaders according to this settting.
